Homemade Liquid Soap

What I like about Summer...

For 3 months of the year I get to do pretty much whatever I want to do.
This is when I try new things, get creative, get organized and experiment with some of the pins I have pinned from Pinterest.

The other day my daughters and I made some "Homemade Powder Laundry Detergent"
Besides having a Great time together, we each went away with a large supply to try on our own laundry. So far, we are happy as can be with it.

Here is something else I tried out...

"Homemade Liquid Soap"

How To Turn A Bar of Soap Into Liquid Hand Soap
Ingredients:
    1 c soap flakes
    10 c water
    1 Tbs. glycerin
The recipe calls for 1 cup of soap flake. Since 1 bar actually equals 1 1/2 cups of soap flakes, I decided to make 1 full recipe plus a 1/2 of a recipe. Make sense?

I happen to have 2 different kinds of soap in my storage. I had Irish Spring (green), and Coast (blue). Next time I may actually go to the store and pick out a pretty color that matches my bathrooms and kitchen. In the mean time, this is what I did.

Grate your bar of soap.

Then I put everything into a pot on the stove. The water, soap flakes and glycerin.
Stir until it is all dissolved.
That's it!

Let it cool completely then put into your empty soap containers (if you happen to have saved some).

Now this is where I insert my really cool picture of the 4 soap dispensers that I had saved and filled along with a large container of my extra for refills. However, for some reason that picture wont upload for me. So I will show you the picture and give you the link to the person who inspired me to give it a try.
Thank You Pinterest!
