Whole Wheat bread demo

Ever made a GREAT loaf of whole wheat bread?

It can maybe sound intimidating...whole wheat. It might even bring memories of a brick that you just wanted to throw against the wall. (ok maybe I speak from experience).

Since those days of frustration, I have matured just a little and made several more attempts. I love collecting recipes and tips on how to improve on my bread and how others do it.

I especially enjoy watching short videos of others working their magic in the kitchen.

Give this short video a looksee and see if it's something you just might give a try someday...soon!

This video is brought to you by Chef Tess and Honeyville. You can purchase your ingredients wherever you wish. This just happens to be Honeyville...I have No connection to their products or store.

Family Home Storage video (Jean)

Think food storage is just for those Really extreme times in life?
Think again.
It could happen at any time, to any person.
Are you prepared for what life may throw at you?

Family Home Storage – Meet Jean

Jean shares here how she discovered the blessings of food storage. When her husband lost his job, their preparation helped them live off of what they had saved and stored. (3:00)

Meal in a Jar (Hawaiian Style Teriyaki Beef)

Meal in a Jar

Just in case you Loved the other video with baked Ziti.
Here is another fun recipe that you can make SO easily with Freeze Dried foods.

I LOVE Variety!

I think it is important to have a supply of Long Term food items.
The kind we have been counseled to have for years now.
You know the kind...wheat, rice, beans, Oats etc.
Everyone should have that by now.
I also like to store a little of the prepared foods.
There are several companies that sell those, along with the dehydrated and freeze dried items.
All are smart things to have as well as our everyday pantry foods.

This idea of a meal in a jar is perfect for those night when life is crazy...or just a Tuesday night.
It doesn't have to be considered food storage, so much as just plan smart preparation.

Enjoy this video and recipe for Hawaiian Style Teriyaki Beef.

Thank You Honeyville and Chef Tess.
Of course any brand of Freeze Dried would work, the recipe was just formatted using this brand.

Meals in a Jar (Baked Ziti)

Meals in a Jar?!

Just another Great idea to add variety to your pantry.
Assemble several while you are at it and you will have security and ease ready to go.

This is something you could easily put into a Mylar bag and take backpacking, camping, to college or even a surprise for a missionaries comfort meal.
UMMM why not?!

Just imagine a shelf full of ready to cook meals that anyone in the family could make.
Security that is said to last 5 to 7 years.
 I LOVE IT!

Baked Ziti

Brought to you by: Chef Tess and Honeyville

I'm thinking this would make the perfect daughter get together this summer.
I am picturing an assemble line of jars with the girls making lots of make ahead meals in a Jar!
How about you? Every made these or tasted them before.
I am anxious to give it a try!

Family Home Storage video (Maureen)

What is Food Storage?

Food and ingredients that you eat and use everyday, just multiplied for more uses. Instead of shopping for each meal (yes I know people who do this). Or shopping even week to week, it is Planning ahead for future uses and having extra on hand for many meals.
That's all it is. Having extra of the food you eat, every day.

Family Home Storage – Meet Maureen

Maureen discusses how she uses her food storage regularly in the family diet and the peace that comes from following the Prophet's inspired counsel to be prepared. (1:54)

Food Storage video (Wendy DeWitt)

About 6 years ago I was given this Food Storage Video.

It is so motivating, entertaining and educational!

Watch it then ACT on it.

Decide for yourself, what matters most.

Food Storage presentation by Wendy DeWitt

The Food Storage program is not given just to protect us, it is also given to consistently confirm before the Lord, ourselves, and all people that the things which He has instructed His people to do...they will do! Even when the reasons for doing them don't immediately seem important, or even understandable. (Neil H. Leash, Prophetic Statements on Food Storage for Latter-day Saints pg.22)
